The Season of ChangeAutumn is upon us, and with the falling leaves and cooler weather, comes what is typically the busiest hiring season of the year. This year has been filled with the ever-increasing demand for SOX, Internal Controls and Audit professionals. Also, the demand for Controllers, Analysts and Accounting Clerks has never been greater on both a contract and permanent basis. Whether you have been in to meet with us in the distant or recent past it is time to feel optimistic about what this season may have in store for you. If you have been procrastinating on revamping your resume or upgrading your skill set then wait no longer. If recent weeks are any indication of what the future will be like then be prepared to hear about many new and exciting opportunities in the weeks to come. However, we urge you to remember that we are unfortunately unable to create positions that match your criteria and skill set no matter how great a candidate you are! We would also like to remind you to make us aware if you would consider contract work since our Contract Division is also experiencing exponential growth. The Season of change is here and we certainly hope this change includes your career - with our assistance of course!

Tip of the Quarter:Know What You Have to OfferOne of the most difficult jobs anyone can have is selling themselves. Understanding who you are and what you have to offer is the first step to making this part of the interview process less intimidating. Make a list of the traits and skills you have that most closely match the job description. If you’re stumped, look for help - a former supervisor or colleague will be well placed to tell you what they most appreciated about working with you. The most important thing is to leave the interviewer with a clear picture of what you can do for them, the department and the company. The bottom line: being prepared to answer a question like, “Tell me about yourself” with confidence and poise might just be what puts you ahead of the competition.
